Pregnancy can be a time where expectant moms feel phenomenal and “glow.” However, while pregnancy is an amazing experience and your life is vastly different from before the pregnancy, your growing baby is probably making you increasingly uncomfortable. What’s with the back pain? And all the other changes?
Find out about some great techniques for relieving the discomfort associated with expecting a baby and meet other expectant moms at our nurturing Pregnancy Comfort Event! There will be short presentations by each expert participant with time for individual questions. We will have chair massage and reflexology demonstrations, in addition to gift giveaways!

On Wednesday, September 22nd, from 6-8pm Destination Maternity is holding an NFL ‘Kick-off’ event at the %7th street & Madison store – ‘The Belly Bowl’. Partnering with the NFL, Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be attending as she is the ‘face’ of the NFL maternity tee shirt.
There will be 4 stations that expectant mom’s can enjoy.
Station 1 Elisabeth will hold a ‘session’ on the basics of football and how the sport ‘brings families together’.
Station 2 ‘Eat Right and Stay Healthy’ – DM is lining up a chef who is promoting a new cookbook for this station.
Station 3 ‘Get Fit’ - Latham ‘coaches’ alongside NFL trainer demonstrating ways to get fit for labor and delivery! and will teach a yoga class in the learning studio.
Station 4 Getting Ready for the Big Game’ – We will offer free chair and hand massages.

The 8th Annual Miles for Midwives 5K Walk/Run brings together runners, families and midwifery supporters for a fun day devoted to maternity care improvement and community wellness. Enjoy great silent auction prizes, a kid's corner, and our FREE Wellness Fair activities including yoga, reiki, and acupuncture. Proceeds from this event benefit the work of CIC and ACNM to improve maternity care in our community.

How to do it: Bring your hips flush with the wall, lie on your left side, send your right leg up the wall and rolling onto your back, slide the left leg up to meet the right. Your hips can be flush with the wall at 90 degrees or slightly away creating a 45 degree angle with the legs. Close your eyes and relax your shoulders, and breathe deeply. Stay here for a minimum of 5 minutes. If you hang out here for 20 minutes, its equivalent to taking a two hour nap! * You are welcome to practice this pose up until 36 weeks, after that point it is advised not to enter this pose because of the pressure that might be placed on the vena cava*
